We bought our first Apartment at Heaven Beach, 405, when it was still being built. Everything about it was wonderful. Then, because we love having family and friends…in a different apartment, we bought a second apartment. Then, when the crisis took hold in Spain, and the developer looked to be off-loading his remaining apartments at low prices, possibly to the wrong people, we decided to protect our investment and bought a further 9 units – the best 9 remaining. Actually, we did not intend to keep them, just decorate and furnish and sell at a more leisurely pace. But, although we originally resisted, worried about our luxury fittings, rentals took off and we have welcomed and met many lovely people from all over the world, and in almost every case, the apartments are lovingly looked after – we believe it is because they want to come back!
For now, at least, we take the view that it is just as easy to rent eleven apartments as it is to rent one – the economy of scale helps us to provide a flexible service that would be impossible otherwise. Regular Guests find that we usually have something available – not necessarily the same apartment, but having stayed in most of them, I can vouch for the fact that they are all beautiful – we go to Heaven Apartments every holiday we can, to whichever apartment has availability. Heaven has still not lost any of its charm for us, our nearly 16-year-old son who has pretty much grown up there, and the many, many families and friends for whom Heaven Beach is now a second home.
It is not just about the location, which is second to none, or the intimacy and privacy of a small complex instead of a concrete jungle, or the distance from the road and the closeness to the sea, or the lightness and brightness of the outlook; the luxury of the décor, the beds, the sheets, the fittings and the facilities. Heaven Beach has a peace and tranquillity that is hard to find and hard to define. But above all, it is the Guests that add the crucial ingredient, no stag or hen parties, nothing inappropriate to the season, and a truly international mix of charming Guests of often different ages and demographics with one thing in common, they all want to enjoy the respite of Heaven, the local delights of the Marbella and Estepona areas and the cultural and culinary pleasures of Andalucía. I am pleased to say that after visiting Heaven most Guests have something else in common; they can’t wait to return!
In fact, we have now sold one of the apartments, but we still rent it for the new owner, in exactly the same way and eventually, we may sell more, but we will incur the wrath of our 16-year old!
